Welcoming the conference to Kingston, the RMC Paladins hosted the 2025 OUA Men's Fencing Championship on March 1 and 2. With numerous Paladins competing in the two-day event, RMC went on to place 8th overall.

Beginning on Saturday, the championship started with the individual competition. Reaching the round of 16, third-year Paladin, Scott Mawhinney earned the team their best result of the day. Mawhinney finished pool play with a 6-6 record. From there, he picked up a win in the round of 32, before narrowly falling in the round of 16, 15-14. Mawhinney was just one of four RMC épée specialists competing. Battling through pool play, Isaac Whitehead earned four victories and Hyoungmin Lee earned three. Brody Nadeau, competing in his first OUA Championship, scored a handful of touches in pool play.

In both foil and sabre, RMC had a pair of athletes reach the knockout stage. Starting with foil, Keegan Pike and Aleksandre Lapshin each finished the round robin with 6-5 records, earning them spots in the elimination bracket. However, that was as far as they would get. Also in foil, Suho Choi and Ethan MacMillan both earned a win the the pool stage, but did not advance.

Leading the charge for the Paladin's sabre team were Jérémy Albert and Daniel Galaman. Both putting together strong pool play performances, Albert advanced to the knockout stage with a 9-3 record, while Galaman, not far behind, earned a record of 8-4. Despite a pair of close matches, both would come up just short in the round of 32. Although they did not advance out of the pool play, Joshua Kim picked up one win for RMC, while David Park battled, but came up just short in his pool play matches.

The team competition kicked off on Sunday, with épée getting underway first. The Paladins team of Lee, Mawhinney, Nadeau and Whitehead put their best foot forward. Despite missing one of their top fencers due to injury, the foursome managed to pick up a win over Brock, but were defeated in their other two matches against McMaster and TMU. Their 1-2 record just narrowly missed getting them into the quarterfinals.

In foil, Choi, Lapshin, MacMillan and Pike battled together going 1-1 in pool play, picking up a victory over TMU. With their record, the team reached the quarterfinals, where they battled the top-seeded Ottawa Gee-Gees. Despite a strong effort, RMC was unable to get past Ottawa. The team bounced back in the consolation bracket though, defeating the Brock Badgers. The Paladins would later fall to the Queen's Gaels in the fifth place match.

The Paladin's sabre team of Albert, Galaman, Park and Samer Srouji, was the final squad to hit the piste on Sunday. Defeating York and Western in their pool, the Paladins finished the round with a 2-1 record. After a loss to Toronto in the quarterfinals, the Paladins found their groove, taking down Western and TMU to earn fifth place.

Following the competition, Paladins head coach Patricia Howes was named the Christian Vidosa Trophy recipient as the OUA coach of the year.

Accueillant les étudiants-athlètes de toute l'association à Kingston, les Paladins du CMR étaient les hôtes ce weekend des Championnats masculins d'escrime des SUO 2025. Avec de nombreux Paladins en action dans cet événement de deux jours, le CMR a pris le huitième rang du classement général.
 
Ces championnats ont démarré samedi avec les tournois individuels. Atteignant les huitièmes de finale, l'escrimeur de troisième année Scot Mawhinney a réalisé le meilleur résultat des Paladins. Il a d'abord complété la phase préliminaire avec une fiche de 6-6, puis a remporté son duel de 16e de finale avant de s'incliner 15-14 au tour suivant. Mawhinney était un de quatre spécialistes de l'épée représentant le CMR. En phase préliminaire, Isaac Whitehead a signé quatre victoires, tandis que Hyoungmin Lee en a remporté trois. À ses premiers Championnats des SUO, Brody Nadeau a réussi une poignée de touches en phase de groupes.
 
Au fleuret et au sabre, le CMR a vu deux de ses athlètes accéder aux tours éliminatoires. D'abord au fleuret, Keegan Pike et Aleksandre Lapshin ont chacun conclu leur passage en phase préliminaire avec des fiches de 6-5, ce qui leur a valu de poursuivre leur tournoi. Cependant, les deux ont été stoppés à leur premier match éliminatoire. Toujours au fleuret, Suho Choi et Ethan MacMillan ont chacun gagné un duel en phase préliminaire, sans accéder au tour éliminatoire.
 
Au sabre, Jérémy Albert et Daniel Galaman ont été les meilleurs Paladins. Les deux ont offert de solides prestations au tour préliminaire. Albert a accédé au tour éliminatoire avec une fiche de 9-3, tandis que Galaman a accumulé un bilan de 8-4. Malgré des matchs serrés, ni un ni l'autre n'a franchi les 16e de finales. Joshua Kim a remporté une victoire en phase de groupes pour le CMR, tandis que David Park a été blanchi dans le tour préliminaire.
 
Le tournoi par équipes a démarré dimanche, d'abord avec l'épée. Le groupe des Paladins formé de Lee, Mawhinney, Nadeau et Whitehead a offert son meilleur effort. Malgré l'absence de leurs deux meilleurs escrimeurs en raison de blessures, le quatuor a vaincu Brock, mais s'est incliné contre McMaster et TMU. Leur fiche de 1-2 leur a tout juste fait rater une place en quarts de finale.
 
Au fleuret, Choi, Lapshin, MacMillan et Pike ont accumulé un bilan de 1-1 après avoir battu TMU. Leur fiche leur a permis d'atteindre les quarts de finale où ils ont croisé les Gee-Gees d'Ottawa, première tête de série. Malgré un magnifique effort, le CMR n'a pas su résoudre leurs rivaux de la capitale. L'équipe a bien répondu en consolation, battant les Badgers de Brock avant de s'incliner contre les Gaels de Queen's dans le duel pour la cinquième place.
 
L'équipe de sabre des Paladins composée de Albert, Galaman, Park et Samer Srouji était la dernière en piste dimanche. Battant York et Western en phase de groupes, les Paladins ont conclu ce tour avec une fiche de 2-1. Après une défaite contre Toronto en quarts de finale, le CMR a vaincu Western et TMU en consolation pour conclure la compétition au cinquième rang.
 
Au terme de la compétition, l'entraîneure-chef des Paladins Patricia Howes a remporté le trophée Christian Vidosa à titre d'entraîneur de l'année des SUO.
