Joely Christian has been the head coach of the Paladins women’s program since 2014. Since joining RMC, Christian was named the head coach of the Canadian Military Women's National Team that annually competes against military teams around the world, leading that squad to a top four finish at the 2017 World Military Championships.

Originally from Scarborough, Ontario, Christian is a fully certified Performance Coach who has guest coached with the senior national team and as an assistant coach with Canada's University Games team in 2011.

Christian brings a winning legacy to RMC, having led teams to OUA and Canada Games titles. During her seven season as the head coach of the Queen's Gaels, she led the women's program to its first ever OUA Championship and berth at the National Championships. In 2005, she guided Team Ontario to a gold medal at the Canada Summer Games, the province’s first in women’s volleyball since 1967.

Before entering the coaching world, Christian was a successful student-athlete with the Regina Cougars and the Manitoba Bisons, where she was a four-time Great Plains Athletics Conference first team all-star and was a first-team All-Canadian. She competed for Team Canada as a member of both the National ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams, and helped the National Junior Team qualify for the Junior World Championships in 1988.
