Coming off of a Sunday afternoon victory over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, the RMC Paladins were back on home ice in the Constantine Arena Friday evening looking to pick up a second straight win. Playing host to the Western Mustangs, a difficult third period sunk the Paladins, as they fell 6-2.
With both teams looking to get themselves on track, the first period did not see much in the way of chances early on, as both sides looked to work their way into the offensive zone. Although it looked like the game was destined for a scoreless first period, the Mustangs managed to change that script late, getting the first goal of the game past Paladin's goalie
Joe Ingram-Chambers with under three minutes to play in the frame. That goal would give Western a 1-0 lead after one period.
In the second period, the Paladins really began to make a push into the Western end. Despite being unable to find the back of the net in the opening period with 20 shots on goal, RMC's continued hard work in the second period would earn them, not only the tying goal, but the go-ahead goal as well. Just past the midway point of the period, is when RMC would get themselves on the board. Jumping on a loose puck, team captain, Chris Paquette scored his 11
th goal of the season to even the score 1-1. Then, exactly four minutes later, Mathieu Hébert scored his first goal of the season to give the Paladins their first lead of the game.
Still holding the 2-1 advantage as the third period got underway, the Paladins found themselves back on equal terms early in the period, as Western tied the game 2-2. More adversity then hit RMC shortly after as the Mustangs regained the lead on a deflection in front of Ingram-Chambers. The game then started to get away from the Paladins after being issued a five-minute major for boarding, as Western went on to score three times on the ensuing powerplay. Tacking on one more goal, the Mustangs rounded out their 6-2 victory.
In goal for RMC, Ingram-Chambers turned away 41 shots.
The Paladins will now have a quick turnaround, as they prepare to take on the Windsor Lancers. Windsor will visit Constantine Arena tomorrow (Nov. 25) at 1400.

Joe Ingram-Chambers. C'était 1-0 pour les Mustangs à la pause.
En deuxième période, les Paladins ont commencé à s'organiser en territoire de Western. Malgré l'incapacité à s'inscrire à la marque en première période malgré leurs 20 tirs, les Paladins ont continué de travailler dur, pour créer l'égalité puis prendre les devants. À 10:51, le capitaine Chris Paquette a sauté sur une rondelle libre pour inscrire son 11e but de la saison et faire 1-1. Quatre minutes plus tard, Mathieu Hébert a marqué son premier de la saison pour procurer aux Paladins leur première avance dans ce match.
Menant 2-1 au début de la troisième période, le CMR a vu les Mustangs créer l'égalité à 4:37 sur le but de Jacob Dietz. Le CMR a ensuite encaissé un troisième but cinq minutes plus tard sur une rondelle déviée qui a déjoué Ingram-Chambers. Le match a échappé aux Paladins après avoir écopé une punition de cinq minutes pour avoir donné de la bande, ouvrant la porte à trois buts en avantage numérique en un peu plus de trois minutes en route vers une marque finale de 6-2.
Le gardien Ingram-Chambers a conclu la rencontre avec un total de 41 arrêts devant le filet du CMR.
Les Paladins n'auront pas trop le temps de ronger leur frein puisque les Lancers de Windsor seront leurs prochains adversaires à l'Aréna Constantine, samedi (25 nov.) à compter de 14 h 00.
