Returning home to the SAM Gym Friday night, the RMC Paladins played host to the No. 9 ranked Windsor Lancers for the first of two matches in as many days. Unfortunately for the Paladins, they were unable to find their footing against the Lancers falling in three sets (18-25, 8-25, 21-25).
Looking to get an early jump on the visitors, the Paladins did their best to stay with the nationally ranked squad. In what was a competitive opening set, RMC did not quite have enough at the end, as Windsor took the opening set 25-18.
In the middle set, the Paladins quickly found themselves up against it and unable to slow the Lancer's momentum. Controlling the set from start to finish, Windsor took a two set lead, winning 25-8.
Determined to battle back, RMC fought up until the very end of the final set. Although trailing in the set, the Paladins made a late push, but it was not quite enough in the end, as despite their strong efforts, RMC fell 25-21, dropping the three-set match.
The Paladins were led on offence by
Maciej Tereszko, who registered a game-high nine kills.
Andrew Gallant's 18 assists were tied for the game-high, while Gallant also led all athletes with four digs.
The Paladins will not have to wait long to get another crack at Windsor. RMC will again play host to the Lancers tomorrow (Nov. 25). First serve is scheduled for 1400 from the SAM Gym.

Malheureusement, les Paladins n'ont jamais pu s'imposer dans ce match, s'inclinant en trois manches aux mains des Lancers (18-25, 8-25 et 21-25).
Cherchant à donner le ton à la rencontre, les Paladins ont fait de leur mieux pour rivaliser avec leurs adversaires qui figurent au classement national, mais cela n'a pas suffi alors que Windsor a remporté la première manche 25-18.
L'écart s'est rapidement creusé en deuxième manche alors que les Paladins ont été incapables de ralentir le rythme des visiteurs. Contrôlant le jeu du début à la fin, les Lancers ont remporté la deuxième manche 25-8.
Déterminés à lutter jusqu'à la fin, le CMR a offert sa meilleure prestation en troisième manche. Toujours en retard au pointage, les Paladins y sont allés d'une poussée ultime en fin de rencontre, mais ont dû s'avouer vaincus par la marque de 25-21.
L'attaque des Paladins a été menée par
Maciej Tereszko, auteur de neuf attaques marquantes. Les 18 passes d'
Andrew Gallant et ses quatre récupérations ont été des sommets dans ce match pour les locaux.
Les Paladins auront l'occasion de se reprendre samedi contre ces mêmes Lancers à compter de 14 h au SAM Gym.
