The RMC Paladins women's soccer team spent Saturday afternoon in Toronto, as they opened their 2024 OUA regular season with a date against the Varsity Blues. Although the game was scoreless for the first 55-minutes, the Blues would find their offence in the latter stages of the match to defeat the Paladins 4-0.
RMC's defence, led by first-year goalkeeper
Brianna West helped RMC stay level with the homeside throughout the first half. In her Paladins debut, West made multiple big saves early in the contest to keep the score 0-0.
Still searching for the first goal, the Paladins tried to push play to the Varsity Blue's end, however, it would be Toronto who would capitalize first in the 56
th minute.
Twenty minutes later, Toronto would double their lead, before tacking on two more goals, including one via penalty kick in the final minutes.
West went on to make 13 saves for RMC. Third-year midfielder
Alex Vinzenz would go on to record the Paladins lone shot on goal.
RMC will begin heading back east to Peterborough, Ont., where they will take on the Trent Excalibur on Sunday afternoon.

Toujours en quête d'un premier but, les Paladins ont tenté des incursions en territoire offensif, mais c'est Toronto qui a finalement ouvert la marque à la 56e minute de jeu.
Vingt minutes plus tard, Toronto a doublé son avance, puis a inscrit deux autres buts, notamment un sur penalty dans les dernières minutes.
