Picking up their second win of the season 10 days ago in Peterborough, the RMC Paladins returned action Friday night as they made their way to Windsor. However, RMC was unable to duplicate their success against Trent, falling 3-0 (11-25, 14-25, 14-25) to the Windsor Lancers.
Making the lengthy journey south-west, the Paladins seemed to have a tough time getting their legs underneath them. Quickly establishing a lead, Windsor was able to jump out to a 14-5 advantage. Although they tried to battle back, the Paladins were unable to sustain any momentum before dropping the set 25-11.
Unfortunately, for RMC, the second set began similarly to the first. With Windsor going up 12-6, they then won six of the next eight points to take full control of the set at 18-8. Despite playing Windsor point-for-point from then on, the deficit was too much to make up with Windsor winning the set 25-14.
With their back against the wall for the third set, the Paladins were able to get off to a better start. Keeping the set close through nearly the first 20 points, RMC found themselves trailing by just one at 10-9. From that point though, Windsor was able to establish control. Winning the next six points, the Lancers were able to pull away before finishing off the set 25-14.

Eve Smith led the Paladins with eight kills.
Jayda Phillipson had a team-high 21 assists, while
Lilie Demelo led the team with 13 digs.
The Paladins will return to the court in Windsor on January 25. First serve is set for 1300hrs.

Cependant, le CMR n'a pas été en mesure de répliquer les succès de son match contre Trent, s'inclinant en trois manches (11-25, 14-25 et 14-25) contre les Lancers de Windsor.
Après un long périple vers le sud-ouest de la province, les Paladins ont semblé prendre beaucoup de temps avant de retrouver leurs jambes de match. Établissant une avance en début de rencontre, Windsor s'est rapidement retrouvé devant par une marque de 14-5. Tentant de revenir dans le match, les Paladins n'ont pas été en mesure de maintenir le rythme, en route vers un revers de 25-11.
Malheureusement pour le CMR, la deuxième manche a démarré comme la première. Windsor a pris les devants 12-6, puis a marqué six des huit points suivants pour prendre contrôle de la manche 18-8. Malgré qu'elles aient répondu point pour point par la suite avec les Lancers, les Paladins avaient un écart trop important à combler et a perdu 25-14.
Le dos au mur au début de la troisième manche, les Paladins ont été en mesure de mieux démarrer l'engagement. Après avoir tenu bon sur les 20 premiers points, le CMR tirait de l'arrière 10-9. À partir de ce moment, Windsor a pris le contrôle du jeu. Remportant les six points suivants, les Lancers ont fermé la porte pour l'emporter 25-14.
