With just five matches remaining on their schedule, the RMC Paladins took to the court Saturday afternoon against the York Lions for their final road match of the season. The Paladins would go on to fall to York 3-0 (21-25, 16-25, 19-25).
Although they were able to make a late push, the Paladins fell behind early, as York took a 15-7 lead. Using a five-point run to pull themselves back into the set, RMC narrowed the gap down to three. The Lions would keep RMC at bay from there though to secure the set 25-21.
Forced to use a timeout early on in the second, RMC fell behind 6-0 to open the set. Once again though, the Paladins chipped away at the lead and got it down to two points at 17-15. A seven-point run from the Lions would erase the RMC comeback effort though, as it propelled York to a 25-16 win.
The third set got off to a much tighter start. With both teams staying within a point or two of each other, RMC would take a couple of leads early in the set as they looked to force a fourth. Tied 14-14, the Paladins began to see the Lions pull away. With York taking seven of the next eight points, the Lions established control at 21-15. From there, York finished off the set 25-19.
Tommy Roussel once again led the team in kills with 13.
Andrew Gallant, meanwhile, recorded team-highs for RMC in assists with 23 and digs with 11.
The Paladins will return home on February 7 when they host the Nipissing Lakers.

Tirant de l'arrière 6-0 en début de deuxième manche, le CMR a pris un temps d'arrêt. Les Paladins ont grugé cet écart pour s'approcher à deux points (17-15). Une séquence de sept points des Lions ont mis fin aux espoirs de remontée du CMR alors que York l'a emporté 25-16.
La troisième manche a démarré sur un pointage beaucoup plus serré alors que les équipes sont demeurées à un point ou deux d'écart. Le CMR a pris les devants quelques fois en début de manche en quête de disputer une quatrième manche. À égalité 14-14, les Paladins ont commencé à voir les Lions s'échapper. York a remporté sept des huit échanges suivants pour porter la marque à 21-15, en route vers un gain de 25-19.

Andrew Gallant a été le meilleur des siens avec 23 passes et 11 récupérations.
Les Paladins rentreront à Kingston en vue de leur prochain match, le 7 février contre les Lakers de Nipissing.
