Showing plenty of fight Saturday afternoon, the RMC paladins we're back in action as they visited the York Lions for the second time in as many days. Although the Paladins put forth a strong effort, in the end, they dropped a 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 24-26) decision to York.
Despite falling behind early in the opening set, the Paladins were able to battle their way back. Trailing 18-13 at one point, RMC went on a run, narrowing the York lead to 19-18. The Lions were able to recapture momentum from their though, winning six of the next seven points to take the set 25-19.
In the second set, the two teams went back and forth, which included RMC taking multiple leads. However, with the Paladins leading 8-7, York began to take control. Winning 10 of the next 11 points, the Lions suddenly established a 17-9 advantage. Facing the deficit head on, the Paladins were able to pull within four but that would be as close as they would get, as York went on to win the set 25-19.
Flipping the switch in the third, the Paladins began applying the pressure to York. Going on a 10-2 run, RMC took their biggest lead of the match at 13-9. Continuing to attack, the Paladins extended their lead to 16-10. From there though, York's comeback began. Taking seven consecutive points, the Lions were able to jump out in front 17-16. From that point on, very little separated the two sides. Trailing 24-22, RMC was able to tie the set 24-24, but from there, York would secure the next two points and win the match.

Elisa Markentin and
Eve Smith tied for the team-high in kills with eight each.
Jayda Phillipson led the team in assists with 19, while Markentin finished with nine digs to lead the Paladins.
RMC will now return home on February 7 as they prepare to battle the Nipissing Lakers.

Remportant 10 des 11 échanges qui ont suivi, les Lions ont pris les devants 17-9. Les Paladins ont courageusement répliqué pour réduire l'écart à quatre points, mais c'est là que la remontée s'est arrêtée, alors que York a remporté la manche 25-19.
Passant au niveau supérieur en troisième manche, les Paladins ont commencé à mettre de la pression sur York. Marquant 10 points sur 12 échanges, le CMR a pris sa plus grande avance avec une marque de 13-9. Poursuivant leurs attaques, les joueuses du CMR ont prolongé cette avance à 16-10. C'est à partir de ce moment que York a entamé sa remontée, remportant sept échanges consécutifs pour prendre les devants 17-16. Le pointage est resté serré jusqu'à la toute fois. Tirant de l'arrière 24-22, le CMR a su créer l'égalité 24-24, mais York a marqué sur les deux échanges suivants pour l'emporter 26-24.

Eve Smith étaient à égalité au sommet de l'équipe avec huit attaques marquantes chacune, tandis que
Jayda Phillipson a mené la formation avec 19 passes, puis Markentin a conclu le match avec neuf récupérations.
Le CMR rentrera à la maison pour affronter les Lakers de Nipissing, le vendredi 7 février.
