On a day when the RMC Paladins celebrated their three graduating players,

Andrew Gallant and
Niko Roumanis, the team showed plenty of fight against the No. 10 ranked Toronto Varsity Blues. Unfortunately, their competitiveness and desire did not result in a win, as Toronto got the better of the Paladins 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 18-25).
Coming off a competitive match the night before between the two sides, Saturday's game picked up in the same spot. All through the opening set, there was very little to separate RMC and Toronto. The Blues would open up a four-point lead during the middle portion of the set, but outside of that, neither team was able to lead by more than a point or two. Down the stretch of the set, the score was tied 22-22 and then 23-23. Toronto would be the ones to breakthrough late though, winning two straight points to take the set 25-23.
The competitiveness of match carried over to the second set. Creating a lead of more than one proved difficult for both Toronto and RMC. The Paladins held a small advantage at 14-12, however, at that point, Toronto started to find their groove. Going on 7-1 run, the Blues would open up their biggest lead of the set at 19-15. The Paladins would push but it was not quite enough to save the set, falling 25-20.
Down by two sets, the Paladins seemed to have a harder time gaining traction in the third. The Varsity Blues would jump on to an 11-5 lead on RMC. Although the Paladins would narrow the gap down to four, Toronto once again was able to get on a roll. The Blues would push their lead to 19-11, before ultimately finishing off the set and the match, 25-18.
Tommy Roussel once again was a force offensively, leading RMC with 15 kills. Gallant had the team-high in assists with 30, while also leading the team in digs with eight.
With the season now concluded, the Paladins will set their sights on the 2025-26 campaign.

Andrew Gallant et Niko Roumains, les Paladins du CMR ont fait preuve d'une belle combativité et de beaucoup de conviction samedi, mais se sont quand même inclinés en trois manches aux mains des Varsity Blues de Toronto (23-25, 20-25, 18-25).
Au lendemain d'un match compétitif entre les deux équipes, la rencontre de samedi a démarré sur le même élan. La première manche a été plutôt serrée après que les Blues aient créé un écart de quatre points en milieu d'engagement. Sinon, la différence entre les deux équipes s'est limitée à un point ou deux. En fin de manche, l'égalité était de 22-22, puis de 23-23 avant que Toronto marque deux points de suite pour l'emporter 25-23.
La compétitivité du match s'est transportée en deuxième manche alors que Toronto et le CMR ont rarement été à plus d'un point d'écart. Les Paladins ont pris les devants 14-12, mais c'est à ce moment que les Blues se sont mis en marque et ont créé un écart de quatre points, menant 19-15. Les Paladins ont répliqué légèrement, mais pas suffisamment pour renverser la vapeur, s'inclinant 25-20.
En retard deux manches à zéro, les Paladins ont eu de la difficulté à trouver leur rythme en troisième. Les Varsity Blues ont pris les devants 11-5 et bien que les hôtes ont réduit l'écart à quatre points, Toronto s'est relancé pour mener 19-11 avant de mettre fin à la manche et à la rencontre en l'emportant 25-18.
Tommy Roussel a une fois de plus été le meneur chez les Paladins avec 15 attaques marquantes. Gallant a mené les siens avec 30 passes et huit récupérations.
Maintenant que la saison est terminée, les Paladins vers la saison 2025-2026.
