The RMC Paladins were back in action Sunday afternoon as they played host number three nationally ranked, TMU Bold. Although RMC put forth a strong effort, it was not quite enough as they dropped a 2-0 decision.

For much of the match, the Paladins were able to keep up with TMU, and even created a handful of quality scoring chances. Coming within inches of the back of the net, the Paladins twice hit the woodwork throughout the 90-minute match.

Little separated the two teams in the first half, especially on the scoreboard, where neither side was able to breakthrough. However, in the eighth minute of stoppage time, the Bold would find the first marker of the match when a deflected ball off a set piece just squeezed past Paladins keeper, Finn Gregoire.

The second half of the match played out quite similarly to the first. It would be TMU scoring the only goal of the half though, with a tally in the 62^nd minute.

In goal for RMC, Gregoire made one save in the opening half, while Aubry Assongba, who replace Gregoire at halftime, made three second half saves.

Local first-year product, Noah Forgues-Arguin registered a shot on goal, as did Sebastian Lee.

The Paladins will resume their season on 13 September when they host the Trent Excalibur.

Les Paladins du CMR étaient de retour au jeu dimanche après-midi alors que le Bold de TMU, classé troisième au pays était le visiteur. Même si le CMR a déployé un effort louable, les Paladins se sont inclinés 2-0.

Pour la majeure partie du match, les Paladins ont été en mesure de maintenir le rythme avec les joueurs de TMU, créant même quelques occasions de qualité pour s'inscrire à la marque. Passant à quelques pouces de trouver le fond des filets, les Paladins ont dû se contenter de deux tirs sur les poteaux au cours des 90 minutes de jeu.

L'écart était bien mince entre les deux équipes en première demie, particulièrement au tableau de pointage, puisque ni une ni l'autre des équipes n'a su ouvrir la marque. Toutefois, le Bold a brisé la glace à la huitième minute de la reprise du temps arrêté sur un ballon dévié provenant d'un jeu arrêté, trompant la vigilance du gardien Finn Gregoire des Paladins.

Le scénario s'est en quelque sorte répété en deuxième demie, bien que TMU a doublé son avance plus tôt dans la période, en marquant à la 62e minute.

Devant la cage du CMR, Gregoire a réalisé un arrêt en première demie, tandis qu'Aubry Assongba, lancé dans la mêlée en relève au retour de la pause, a stoppé trois tirs en deuxième demie.

La recrue locale Noah Forgues-Arguin a réussi un tir au but, tout comme son coéquipier Sebastian Lee.

Les Paladins disputeront leur prochain match le samedi 13 septembre à l'occasion de la visite de l'Excalibur de Trent à Kingston.
