Paladins Fall by One to Visiting Excalibur | Les Paladins s’inclinent par un but contre l’Excalibur

With just one home game remaining on their 2026 OUA regular season schedule, the RMC Paladins suited up for their final home match Saturday afternoon. Although RMC was able to get on the board first, they would ultimately suffer a 2-1 loss to Trent.

As the match got underway, the Paladins showed plenty of promise in the early stages. Creating multiple chances in the opening 15 minutes, RMC was able to direct the ball into Lionel Fotoso Wafo on two separate occasions, who got his head to the ball but was unable to get either on target.

However, continuing the theme in the 30th minute, RMC once again crossed the ball into the Trent box. This time, Daniel Lee got his head onto the ball and scored his first career goal as a Paladin.

With RMC leading by one, the Paladins kept pushing looking to extend their advantage. Abraham Turcotte and Arvin Holman would both register shots, but neither were able to find the back of the net. Instead, right before the half, the Excalibur would pull even. A goal in the 44th minute would swing momentum back to Trent's side right before the half.

The two sides exchanged chances early on the second half, but it was not until the 63rd minute when one of them was able to capitalize. Unfortunately, for RMC, it was the visitors who would strike as Trent took their first lead of the match.

The rest of the way, RMC tried to push for the equalizer but in the end, were unable to find it.

In goal for the Paladins, senior keeper, Finn Gregoire made three saves.

RMC will conclude their season on October 18 when they pay a visit to the Carleton Ravens.
