The RMC Paladins were back in action Saturday afternoon as they paid a visit to the Trent Excalibur in the team's only game of the weekend. Looking to earn their first points of the season, an eight-minute stretch proved too much to overcome for the Paladins in Peterborough, ultimately falling 5-0.
After the first 18-minutes of the match passed by without any goals, the Excalibur quickly found momentum. Being awarded a penalty kick in the 19
th minute, Trent opened the scoring, before adding to more goals in the 22
nd and 27
th minutes.
Suddenly leading by three, the Excalibur were able to maintain that advantage as the whistle blew for halftime.
Despite the score, RMC was able to generate some offence in the opening half, tallying five shots. However, only one of those attempts would wind up being on target.
For majority of the second half, the score remained the same. With Trent focused on their own end, the Paladins were unable to create much in terms of offence throughout the half. Entering the final ten minutes of the match, the Excalibur would tack on two more late goals to round out the 5-0 score.
In goal for RMC,
Finn Gregoire recorded six saves.
Ethan Kim led the team's attack with two shots, including the Paladins lone shot on goal.
RMC will now have the remainder of the weekend off before resuming their 2026 season when they host the Queen's Gaels on 19 September.

Tout à coup en avant par trois buts, l'Excalibur a su maintenir cette priorité jusqu'à la pause de la mi-temps.
Malgré le pointage, le CMR a été en mesure de créer un peu d'offensive au cours des 45 premières minutes de jeu, décochant alors cinq tirs. Toutefois, seulement une de ces tentatives a été ciblée.
Le pointage n'a pas changé pendant la majeure partie de la deuxième demie. Alors que Trent se concentrait surtout sur son jeu en défensive, les Paladins n'ont pas réussi à trouver des ouvertures offensivement dans les 45 dernières minutes de jeu. L'Excalibur a ajouté deux autres filets dans les 10 dernières minutes du match pour ainsi l'emporter 5-0.

Ethan Kim a décoché deux tirs au but, dont le seul tir ciblé des Paladins.
Le CMR profitera maintenant d'un congé dimanche et disputera son prochain match de la saison 2026 le 19 septembre, à l'occasion de la visite des Gaels de Queen
