The Paladins completed the second game of their road trip as they traveled to North Bay to take on the Lakers. Nipissing would take the game by a score of 6-1.
Nipissing got on the board first in the 16th minute off the foot of Cassidy Brooks. The Lakers pressure continued but they missed a penalty kick in the first half as the shot went off the crossbar. RMC's best chance in the half came on a free kick from Hannah Turnbull that sailed just above the bar.
The Lakers took a 5-0 lead at the break. Nipising would score two goals off penalties in this game, with the second penalty kick resulting in the Lakers sixth goal.
In the 87th minute, the Paladins got their first goal of the season as Alex Vinzenz put the ball past goalie Taylor Mitchener. This was the rookie midfielder's first goal of her career.
Breanna Habinski continued to add to her league-leading saves total, putting up 16 in the loss.
RMC gets a rematch with the Nipissing Lakers next Saturday (Oct. 8) at home at Navy Bay field. Kick-off is at noon.
Les Paladins ont conclu le deuxième match de leur déplacement du weekend alors qu'elles ont subi un revers de 6-1 aux mains des Lakers de Nipissing à North Bay.
Nipissing s'est inscrit au pointage à la 16e minute sur le but de Cassidy Brooks. Les Lakers ont maintenu la pression, mais ont raté une occasion sur un tir de penalty en première demie alors que le ballon est passé au-dessus de la barre transversale. La meilleure occasion du CMR de la demie est survenue quand Hannah Turbull a envoyé un coup franc tout juste au-dessus de la cage adverse.
Les Lakers menaient 5-0 à la mi-temps. Nipissing a marqué deux buts sur penalty dans ce match, le deuxième conduisant au sixième but des Lakers.
À la 87e minute, les Paladins ont marqué leur premier but de la saison quand Alex Vinzenz a déjoué la gardienne Taylor Mitchener. Il s'agissait d'un premier but en carrière pour la joueuse recrue de milieu de terrain.
Breanna Habinski a ajouté à son total d'arrêts au sommet du circuit, réalisant 16 arrêts dans la défaite.
Le CMR aura droit à une revanche samedi prochain quand les Lakers de Nipissing seront en visite à Kingston au Terrain Navy Bay. Le coup d'envoi de cette rencontre est prévu pour midi.
