Playing just their third match of the season having had the previous week off, the Paladins paid a visit to the TMU Bold in the first of two matches against TMU in as many days. Visiting the Mattamy Athletic Centre on November 17, the Paladins were defeated by the home side 3-0 (17-25, 18-25, 13-25).
Following a back and forth start to the match, in which the Paladins were going point for point with the Bold, TMU began to create a bit of separation through the middle portion of the opening set. Taking a 14-6 lead, TMU would not allow the Paladins to pull within any more than six points the rest of the set en route to a 25-17 first set win.
As the second set began, the Bold were able to jump out to an early 5-1 advantage. However, the Paladins quickly showed their resiliency, narrowing the gap before going on a five-point run for an 8-7 lead. TMU would go on to respond with a five-point run of their own though going up 12-8. After RMC pulled back within one, TMU, again was able to regain momentum and re-establish their lead. The Bold would go on to take a 16-11 lead, and from that point on, RMC was able to narrow the gap to as little as four, but that was as close as they would get, falling 25-18.
The Paladins did their best to battle back in the third set, but found themselves in trouble early. A quick start to the final set for TMU had them out in front 6-2 before extending the lead to 11-4. Despite RMC's best effort to make a push, the Bold were able to keep the Paladins at bay, winning the set 25-13.
Maciej Tereszko's five kills led all Paladins on Friday night.
Andrew Gallant led the team in assists with 10, while
Zachary Tessier had a team-high six digs.
Looking to bounce back, the Paladins will get another chance against the Bold tomorrow night when they play the second half of their back-to-back in Toronto. First serve is scheduled for 2000.

Après un début de match âprement disputé, où les Paladins ont su maintenir le rythme au pointage imposé par le Bold, TMU est parvenu creuser l'écart quelque peu à mi-chemin en première manche. S'emparant d'une avance de 14-6, TMU n'a jamais permis aux Paladins de réduire l'écart à moins de six points dans cette manche pour finalement l'emporter 25-17.
Pour débuter la deuxième manche, le Bold n'a pas perdu de temps pour prendre les devants 5-1. Toutefois, les Paladins ont rapidement démontré leur résilience, réduisant d'abord l'écart avant de s'emparer de l'avance 8-7. TMU a eu aussi profité d'une lancée de cinq points cependant pour reprendre l'avance 12-8. Après que le CMR ait de nouveau réduit l'écart à un seul point, TMU a une fois de plus rétabli son avance. Le Bold s'est éventuellement bâti une avance de 16-11 au pointage, un moment à partir duquel le CMR a été en mesure de revenir au pointage, tirant de l'arrière seulement par quatre points à un certain point, mais n'a jamais été en mesure d'en profiter, s'inclinant 25-18.
Les Paladins ont fait de leur mieux pour revenir dans la rencontre en troisième manche, mais ils se sont rapidement trouvés dans l'eau chaude. Un début canon a permis à TMU de s'imposer 6-2 avant d'augmenter leur avant à 11-4. Malgré la meilleure volonté du CRM, le Bold est parvenu à garder ses distances avec les Paladins, remportant la manche par la marque de 25-13.
Les cinq attaques marquantes de Maciej Tereszko ont mené les Paladins vendredi soir. Andrew Gallant a aussi mené les siens avec 10 passes, alors que Zachary Tessier s'est imposé avec six récupérations.
En quête de rédemption, les Paladins auront la chance de se reprendre face au Bold samedi alors qu'ils disputront la deuxième moitié d'un programme double à Toronto. Le premier service est programmé pour 20 h.
