Looking to work their way back into the win column, the RMC Paladins welcomed the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks to Constantine Arena Sunday afternoon. Trying to avenge a loss to Ontario Tech earlier this month, the Paladins would do just that, defeating Ontario Tech 3-1.
Giving the home crowd plenty to cheer about early on, the Paladins got their offence rolling quite quickly. It took just under four minutes for the captain, Chris Paquette to find a lose puck at the top of the circle, spin and fire home his ninth goal of the season to put RMC out in front. Then, just shy of the ten minute mark, RMC added to their lead when
Brock McNaughton scored his first of the season, shelfing the puck over a sprawled out Ontario Tech netminder. However, before the period expired, the Ridgebacks would get one goal back, cutting the lead in half heading into the intermission.
Intent on keeping momentum on their side during the middle frame, the Paladins found themselves having to kill a couple of penalties in order to maintain their lead. After killing off a pair of Ontario Tech powerplays, RMC then got their chance with the man-advantage and took full advantage. Working the offensive zone, Paquette snapped his second goal of the contest to restore the two goal lead through two periods of play.
Knowing a push from the Ridgebacks was most likely to happen, the Paladins held strong in their defensive end, forcing a lot of Ontario Tech's shot attempts to come from the outside. In the end, their defensive strategy would pay off, as RMC was able to keep the Ridgebacks off the board in the final frame and secure a 3-1 win.

With the opportunity to secure a second straight win, the Paladins will continue their four-game homestand on November 24
th when they play host to the Western Mustangs. Puck drop is scheduled for 1900.
Cherchant à retrouver le sentier de la victoire, les Paladins du CMR accueillaient les Ridgebacks d'Ontario Tech dimanche après-midi à l'Aréna Constantine. Les Paladins désiraient du même coup venger une défaite aux mains d'Ontario Tech plus tôt dans le mois. C'est justement ce qu'ils ont fait pour l'emporter 3-1 sur les Ridgebacks.
Les Paladins ont donné des raisons de se réjouir à la foule locale dès le début du match alors que l'attaque s'est mise en marche tôt dans la rencontre. Il a fallu moins de quatre minutes pour le capitaine Chris Paquette de saisir la rondelle, pivoter et marquer son neuvième but de la saison pour donner les devants au CMR. Juste avant la 10
e minute, le CMR a ajouté à son avance sur le premier but de la saison de
Brock McNaughton, quand il a longé la rondelle dans le haut du filet alors que le gardien d'Ontario Tech était étendu sur la patinoire. Les visiteurs ont toutefois réduit l'écart de moitié avant la fin de la première période.
Les Paladins ont dû écouler quelques situations en désavantage numérique en deuxième période pour maintenir l'avance et le rythme de la rencontre. Après avoir menotté l'attaque massive d'Ontario Tech deux fois de suite, le CMR a profité d'une occasion avec un homme en plus quand le capitaine Paquette a alors marqué son deuxième du match à 14:56 du deuxième vingt, rétablissant l'avance de deux buts des locaux avec 20 minutes à jouer.
Sachant que les Ridgebacks allaient rappliquer en troisième période, les Paladins ont resserré le jeu en défensive, forçant Ontario Tech à diriger ses au but à distance. Cette stratégie a rapport pour le CMR qui a blanchi les Ridgebacks dans ce dernier tiers en route vers un gain de 3-1.

Joe Ingram-Chambers a réalisé 35 arrêts devant la cage des Paladins dans une cause gagnante.
Avec l'occasion de remporter un deuxième match de suite, les Paladins poursuivront leur séjour de quatre matchs le vendredi 24 novembre alors que les Mustangs de Western seront les visiteurs. La rondelle sera mise en jeu à 19 h.
