Feeling good following a 3-2 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues, the RMC Paladins were back in action Thursday evening, welcoming the Concordia Stingers to Constantine Arena. Although the Paladins got off to a strong start, they were unable to fend off the visitors from Montreal, dropping a 9-3 decision.
For RMC, they could not have drawn up a better opening 20-minutes of play. Fundamentally sound in both the offensive and defensive zone, the Paladins were able to set the pace for much of the first period. Rewarded for their strong play, RMC got on the board first just after the midway point of the frame. Getting his stick on a point-shot,
Wil Murray deflected in his second goal of the season. Keeping the pressure on, RMC extended their lead to two, four minutes later, when
Nathan Fox fired home his sixth goal of the season on a two-on-one rush. The Paladins would go on to carry that 2-0 advantage into the intermission.
The second period, however, was not so kind to RMC. A two-minute stretch early in the frame would completely flip the momentum of the contest as Concordia struck four times in two minutes and three seconds. Not done there, the Stingers would add three more goals before the period expired, extending their lead to 7-2.
Continuing to compete through the final frame, the Paladins would net their third goal of the game as
Josh Spratt put home a loose puck for his fourth of the year. That was as close as RMC would get though as Concordia would tack on two more goals before the final buzzer sounded.

Joe Ingram-Chambers made 11 saves in relief.
Looking to put the loss behind them, the Paladins will travel tomorrow before taking on USMA for the Challenge Trophy Saturday night in West Point, N.Y. Puck drop is set for 1930. The Paladins will return to league play on February 2 when they visit the Laurier Golden Hawks.

Nathan Fox a inscrit son sixième filet de la campagne sur une montée à deux contre un. Les Paladins sont rentrés au vestiaire avec une avance de 2-0 au premier entracte.
Le vent a toutefois puissamment tourné au deuxième vingt. Sur une séquence de deux minutes et trois secondes en début d'engagement, Concordia a marqué quatre buts sans réplique, puis trois autres buts avant la fin de la période pour porter la marque à 7-2.
Continuant de rivaliser en troisième, les Paladins ont inscrit leur troisième et dernier but de ce match quand
Josh Spratt a fait mouche sur une rondelle libre pour son quatrième but de la saison. C'était toutefois tout ce que l'attaque du CMR a pu produire alors que les visiteurs ont ajouté deux autres buts avant le dernier coup de sifflet de la rencontre.

Cherchant à mettre cette défaite derrière eux, les Paladins seront en déplacement vendredi avant d'affronter l'équipe de l'Académie militaire américaine samedi soir à l'occasion du match du Trophée Challenge à West Point, dans l'État de New York. La rondelle sera mise en jeu à 19 h 30. Les Paladins retrouveront le calendrier des SUO le vendredi 2 février en rendant visite aux Golden Hawks de Laurier.
