Heading on the road to face the No. 7 ranked team in the country, the RMC Paladins knew they would strong challenge in front of them Friday evening. Paying a visit to Montréal to take on McGill, the Paladins put forth a strong effort, but were undone by a late McGill storm in a 7-2 loss.
Getting to work right from the opening faceoff, RMC showed plenty of fight early on. Doing their best to force play into McGill's end, the Paladins would eventually earn a powerplay for their efforts. Just past the midway point of the opening period, RMC would take full advantage of the man-advantage with
Bradley Blake scoring his first career RMC goal, giving his team a 1-0 lead.
Carrying their one-goal advantage into the second, the Paladins would earn another powerplay early in the period, and once again would convert. Finding a loose puck in front of the McGill crease, first-year forward
Noah Matulu pounced to score his second goal of the season. Leading by two, RMC would maintain that lead heading into the second intermission behind strong goaltending from
Michael Davis, who through two period had made 37 saves.
However, in the final frame, RMC found themselves struggling to keep up with the homeside. Scoring four goals in just over four minutes, McGill quickly went from trailing by two to leading by two. They would not stop their either. Continuing to fire shots at Davis, McGill would tack on three more goals before the end of the contest to round out a 7-2 win.
Davis would go on to make 48 saves in the game.

The Paladins will continue their two-game Quebec swing when they visit the Concordia Stingers on October 26.
Sur la route pour y croiser la septième équipe du classement national, les Paladins du CMR savaient que le défi allait être de taille vendredi soir à Montréal face à l'Université McGill. Ouvrant la marque et offrant un bel effort, les Paladins ont été défaits par une explosion offensive de fin de rencontre pour s'incliner 7 à 2.
Se mettant au boulot dès la mise au jeu initiale, le CMR a démontré sa hargne dans les premières minutes de jeu. À mi-chemin dans la période initiale,
Bradley Blake a profité d'un avantage numérique pour inscrire son premier but en carrière avec le CMR, donnant les devants 1-0 aux visiteurs.
Bénéficiant de cet avantage d'un but en début de deuxième période, les Paladins ont eu droit à un autre avantage numérique qui leur a permis de doubler leur avance. L'attaquant de première année
Noah Matulu a marqué son deuxième but de la saison. En avant par deux buts, le CMR a maintenu le cap jusqu'au deuxième entracte, grâce au brio du gardien
Michael Davis, auteur de 37 arrêts après deux périodes de jeu.
Le CMR a toutefois souffert en troisième période. Marquant quatre buts en un peu plus de quatre minutes, McGill a renversé la vapeur, transformant un retard de deux buts en avance de deux buts. Les hôtes ne se sont pas arrêtés là, poivrant le gardien des Paladins de 18 tirs dans le dernier tiers, et ajoutant trois autres buts en route vers un gain de 7-2.
Davis a conclu la rencontre avec 48 arrêts.
