With just one game this weekend, the RMC Paladins set their sights on the Trent Excalibur Saturday afternoon in the SAM Gym. Coming off of two hard-fought defeats in Waterloo last weekend, the Paladins were looking to turn the tides, however, they were unable to get the better of Trent, falling 3-0 (19-25, 22-25, 10-25).
Although RMC was able to keep the first set close initially, the Excalibur were able to pull away slowly as the set went on. Forcing RMC timeouts had 16-12 and 21-16, Trent was able to establish control of the set before finishing it off 25-19.
Trying to bounce back in the second, the Paladins played a much closer set. With only a couple of points separating the sides during the entire set, it came all the way down to the very end. Tied 20-20, and later 21-21, RMC would call a timeout after Trent earned the following point. Determined to stay in the set, the Paladins would use their second timeout, following a small Trent run that put the Excalibur up 24-22. Unfortunately, the Paladins were unable to close the gap any further as Trent won the set 25-22.
In the final set, the visitors were able to take control right away and not look back. Quickly going up 12-5, the Excalibur continued to push, eventually extending their lead to 18-6. Although RMC tried to fight back, the hill was too steep to climb, as Trent went on to win 25-10.

Tommy Roussel led the attack for the Paladins. Setter
Andrew Gallant had a team-high 18 assists, while Gallant and Roussel finished tied for the team lead in digs with four each.
The Paladins will now shift their focus to the Guelph Gryphons, who they will pay a visit to on November 22 and 23.

Même si le CMR a été en mesure de tenir les visiteurs en distance en première manche, l'Excalibur s'est écarté lentement, mais sûrement au fil des échanges. Forçant le CMR à prendre des temps d'arrêt alors qu'il menait 16-12 et 21-16, l'Excalibur a marqué quatre des sept derniers points de l'engagement pour l'emporter 25-19.
Tendant de rebondir en deuxième manche, les Paladins ont gardé le pointage beaucoup plus serré. À égalité 20-20, puis 21-21, le CMR a pris un temps d'arrêt après avoir perdu l'échange suivant.
Déterminés à rester au plus fort de cette manche, les Paladins ont utilisé leur temps d'arrêt alors que l'Excalibur a pris les devants 24-22, mais Trent a remporté l'échange suivant pour mettre fin à la manche par une marque de 25-22.
En troisième manche, les visiteurs ont pris le contrôle de la rencontre assez rapidement et n'ont plus regardé derrière. En avant 12-5, l'Excalibur a maintenu le cap vers une marque de 18-6. Bien que le CMR a tenté de remonter la pente, cette dernière était trop abrupte et Trent a gagné 25-10.

Andrew Gallant a brillé dans sa catégorie statistique avec 18 passes, tandis que les deux joueurs ont fini à égalité au premier rang chez les Paladins avec quatre récupérations chacun.
Les Paladins tourneront maintenant leur attention vers les Gryphons de Guelph chez qui ils se rendront les 22 et 23 novembre.
