In an effort to bounce back from Friday's defeat, the RMC Paladins returned to the Carl Tozke Court with plenty of energy Saturday afternoon. Although that energy would lead to three entertaining sets, the Paladins ultimately came up short on Saturday losing 3-0 (17-25, 29-31, 24-26) to Waterloo.
Very little separated the two teams through the entire three sets. As the match got underway, that quickly became apparent. Whether it was RMC leading, or Waterloo, neither side was able to establish much of an advantage, with three points being the biggest lead. That was until the 18-15 mark. With Waterloo up by three, the Warriors found a groove and went on a 7-2 run to finish the set 25-17.
Those runs proved much harder to come by in the second and third sets. In the middle set, again, neither set was able to separate much early on. Then, after the score was tied 14-14, it became nearly impossible for either side to establish any sort of advantage. From that point on, the biggest lead in the set would be two points, but it would be Waterloo winning a thrilling set in the end, 31-29.
The final set featured a few more runs, but again, neither side could pull away much from the other. Tied 20-20 late, the Paladins did their best to try and force a fourth set, winning three straight points to go up 23-20. However, Waterloo would respond with four consecutive points of their own. After fighting off a match point though, RMC would ultimately fall 26-24 to drop the match in three.
Tommy Roussel would once again lead the team in kills with 14, followed by
Carter Liu with 11.
Andrew Gallant went on to register 30 assists for RMC, while Gallant's six digs would also be a team-high.
The Paladins will now return to Kingston and prepare to take on the Trent Excalibur, who they will host on November 16 at 1600hrs.

Ces séquences de points ont été plus difficiles à réaliser en deuxième et en troisième manche. Encore une fois, aucune équipe n'a su s'échapper en début de deuxième manche. À égalité 14-14, les deux équipes n'ont pas su s'imposer au point où l'écart nécessaire de deux points pour départager les rivaux n'est survenu qu'à la marque de 31-29 en faveur de Waterloo.
En troisième manche, il y a eu quelques séquences de succès, mais personne n'est échappé une fois de plus. À égalité 20-20, les Paladins ont fait de leur mieux pour forcer la tenue d'une quatrième manche, marquant trois points de suite pour prendre les devants 23-20. Cependant, Waterloo a répliqué avec quatre points de suite et après avoir résisté à un point de match, le CMR s'est finalement incliné 26-24 pour être balayé en trois manches successives.

Tommy Roussel a été le meilleur attaquant des siens avec 14 attaques marquantes, suivi par
Carter Liu (11).
Andrew Gallant a réussi 30 passes pour le CMR tandis que ses six récupérations ont aussi été un sommet pour les Paladins dans ce match.
Les Paladins seront de retour à Kingston pour accueillir l'Excalibur de Trent, le samedi 16 novembre à 16 h.
