Back on the court for the second time in as many days, the RMC Paladins once again took on Windsor Lancers in Windsor. Despite a strong effort from RMC throughout the match to hang with the No. 4 team in the country, it was not enough on Saturday, falling 3-0 (17-25, 17-25, 15-25).
Determined to prove themselves against the nationally-ranked squad, the Paladins did everything they could to keep up with the Lancers early on. Going point for point with Windsor, and even take a few different leads, the Paladins came out strong. However, with the score tied 12-12, the Lancers began to make their move winning six consecutive points. Using that separation, Windsor was able to pull away and win the first set 25-17.
Unfortunately, for RMC, the Paladins did not have as strong a start to the second set as they did the first. Falling behind early, RMC quickly found themselves trailing 8-0. Slow start aside, the Paladins did their best to battle back. The Paladins were able to narrow the gap down to six, however, another push from Windsor would break the set open at 21-8. Continuing to fight, RMC would go on a 9-3 run, but it would not be enough, falling 25-17 again.
Looking to stay alive, RMC got off to a much better start in the third. Taking the lead early on, the Paladins went up 4-1, and later held a 7-5 lead as well. With the score tied 10-10 though, the Paladins began to run into trouble. Losing 11 of the next 15 points to Windsor, RMC saw the Lancers pull away. Windsor would then finish off the set 25-15.
Carter Liu finished the match with a team-high seven kills for RMC.
Andrew Gallant, meanwhile, led the team in assists with 12 and digs with seven.
RMC will return to action on the final day of January when they pay a visit to the York Lions.

Déterminés à démontrer ce dont ils sont capables contre une équipe de classement national, les Paladins ont fait tout ce qu'ils ont pu pour garder le cap avec les Lancers en début de rencontre. Rivalisant point pour point avec Windsor et prenant même les devants par moment, les Paladins ont démarré le match en force. Cependant, alors que le pointage était à égalité 12-12, les Lancers ont commencé à s'échapper en remportant six points de suite. Utilisant cet écart, Windsor a vogué vers une victoire de 25-17 en première manche.
Malheureusement pour le CMR, les Paladins n'ont pas aussi bien démarré leur deuxième manche, tirant rapidement de l'arrière après avoir perdu les huit premiers points. Après ce mauvais début de manche, les Paladins ont déployé tous les efforts pour remonter la pente. L'écart a été réduit à six points, mais une autre poussée de Windsor a porté leur avance à 21-8. Le CMR a ensuite remporté neuf des 12 échanges suivants, mais cela n'a pas suffi dans un autre revers de 25-17.
Cherchant à prolonger ce match, le CMR a connu un bien meilleur départ en troisième manche. Les Paladins ont pris les devants 4-1, puis 7-5. À égalité 10-10, les choses se sont gâtées pour les visiteurs. Échappant 11 ses 15 échanges suivants, le CMR a vu ses hôtes s'échapper et les Lancers ont remporté la manche 25-15.
