Having began their 2025 season Friday afternoon in Ottawa, the RMC Paladins returned to Kington on Sunday to play host to the Queen's Gaels in the team's first home game of the year. Although the Paladins were able to generate a few chances earlier, they were unable to keep with the Gaels in the end, dropping a 5-0 decision.
In the beginning, the Paladins were able to go up and down with Queen's. For their efforts, the team earned a pair of strong scoring chances off the foot and head and fourth-year striker,
Chris Knock. His first attempt nearly found the top of the Queen's goal, if not for a late punch from Gaels goalkeeper, Ryan Spaans.
Unfortunately, for RMC, following those chances, the Gaels would quickly convert on their own opportunities. In the 20
th minute, Queen's would open the scoring, before doubling their lead in the 33
rd.
With the score holding at 2-0 heading into the second half, the Gaels would make a point of adding to the advantage quickly. With a goal in the 57
th minute, and another in the 69
th, the Gaels were able to pull away.
Queen's would go on to round out the scoring with one more goal in the 71
st.
In goal for RMC,
Tyler Muller made seven saves. Offensively, Knock led the team with two shots, and had their lone shot on goal.
The Paladins will resume their season on 7 September when they host the TMU Bold.

Bien que les Paladins aient été en mesure de créer des occasions de marquer en début de rencontre, ils n'ont pas su contenir l'attaque des Gaels, en route vers un revers de 5-0.
Les Paladins avaient pourtant tenu le coup contre Queen's en début de rencontre, obtenant deux occasions de marquer sur un coup de pied et une redirection de la tête de l'attaquant de quatrième année
Chris Knock. Sur sa première tentative, il a presque logé le ballon dans le haut du but de Queen's, mais le gardien des Gaels Ryan Spaans a boxé le ballon hors cadre au dernier instant.
Malheureusement pour le CMR, les Gaels ont rapidement converti leurs occasions après celles ratées par les hôtes. À la 20
e minute, Queen's a ouvert la marque, avant de doubler son avance à la 33
e.
En avant 2-0 au retour de la pause, les Gaels ont rapidement ajouté au pointage. Avec un but à la 57e minute, puis un autre à la 69e, les visiteurs ont créé un écart insurmontable.
Queen's a complété la marque avec un cinquième but à la 71e minute.
Devant la cage du CMR,
Tyler Muller a réalisé sept arrêts. À l'attaque, Knock a mené les hôtes avec deux tirs, notamment le seul tir cadré de la rencontre pour les Paladins.
L'équipe sera de retour sur le terrain le dimanche 7 septembre à l'occasion de la visite du Bold de TMU.
