Making the trek northeast, the Paladins began a weekend trip Saturday afternoon in North Bay, Ont., to take on the Nipissing Lakers. In what was the first of two matches in as many days, the Paladins fell to the Lakers 6-1.
Relying on their defensive structure, the Paladins were able to keep Nipissing off the board for much of the opening half. However, with just moments to go before the break, the Lakers would break through for the first goal of the match, and seemingly spark plenty of momentum going forward.
The Lakers struck quickly to open the second half. Finding the net three times in the first eight minutes of the half, Nipissing quickly created some separation.
The home side would add on two more goal to stretch their lead to six.
Not conceding though, RMC tried to push back and would be rewarded for their efforts. In the 82
nd minute,
Angelica Labelle would put the Paladins on the board with her third goal of the season.
In goal for RMC,
Brianna West made 17 saves.
The Paladins schedule will resume on 21 Sept. when they pay a visit to the Laurentian Voyageurs.

Appuyés sur leur structure défensive, les Paladins ont été en mesure de menotter Nipissing pendant la majeure partie de la première demie. Cependant, quelques moments avant la mi-temps, les Lakers ont ouvert la marque, ce qui a fait basculer le match en leur faveur.
Les Lakers ont frappé tôt pour ouvrir la deuxième demie. Trouvant le fond du filet trois fois dans les huit premières minutes de la période, Nipissing a créé un écart imposant.
Les locales ont ajouté deux autres buts pour se créer six points d'avance.
Sans abandonner, le CMR a tenté de répondre et a été récompensé pour ses efforts. À la 82e minute,
Angelica Labelle a inscrit les Paladins au pointage avec son troisième but de
la saison.

Brianna West a réalisé 17 arrêts.
Le calendrier des Paladins reprendra le 21 septembre alors que le CMR rendra visite aux Voyageurs de Laurentienne.
