Returning home to Navy Bay Field Sunday afternoon, the RMC Paladins knew they would have a tough assignment on their hands when they welcomed the No. 5 nationally ranked Carleton Ravens. Despite the challenge in front of them, the Paladins battled and nearly pulled off the upset, suffering a 2-1 loss.
Having just gone up against the No. 6 ranked TMU Bold 24-hours ago in Toronto, the Paladins tried to get their legs going early on. However, it was Carleton that established momentum right way. Earning a penalty kick in the fifth minute of the match, the Ravens converted to take a 1-0 advantage.
Pressuring for the equalizer, RMC started to force play towards the Carleton end late in the half. For their efforts, the Paladins would be rewarded. Moving the ball into the Carlton box, RMC was the beneficiary of a hand ball, awarding them a penalty kick.
Stepping up to the spot, fourth-year captain,
Jun Lee calmly deposited the ball into the right side of the net. With the goal, the Paladins found themselves tied 1-1 with the Ravens heading into the break.
Unfortunately, for RMC, the Ravens quickly regained the lead in the 51
st minute putting the Paladins downs 2-1.
As time started to become a factor, RMC did everything they could to empty the tank and find a second equalizer. Although they created a few close chances, they were unable to find the elusive second goal.

Finn Gregoire made 11 saves.
The Paladins will resume their season on 4 October when they head to Oshawa, Ont., to take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
De retour sur le terrain Navy Bay dimanche après-midi, les Paladins du CMR savaient que la tâche serait ardue à l'occasion de la visite des Ravens de Carleton, classés cinquièmes au pays. Malgré la taille du défi qui s'annonçait, les joueurs des Paladins ont su rivaliser et ont presque surpris leurs adversaires, subissant un revers de 2-1.
Ayant affronté le Bold de TMU la veille, les Paladins ont tenté de retrouver leurs jambes dès les premières minutes. C'est toutefois Carleton qui a établi le rythme de la rencontre. Profitant d'un penalty à la cinquième minute de jeu, les Ravens ont marqué pour prendre les devants 1-0.
Mettant de la pression sur les visiteurs pour créer l'égalité, le CMR a commencé à s'installer en territoire adverse vers la fin de la demie. Ces efforts ont été récompensés puisqu'en faisant circuler le ballon dans la surface de Carleton, un joueur des Ravens a commis une faute de main, conduisant à un penalty.

Jun Lee a calmement déposé du ballon dans le petit filet à droite depuis le point de penalty, créant l'égalité 1-1 tout juste avant la pause.
Malheureusement pour le CMR, les Ravens ont rapidement repris les devants à la 51
e minute, portant la marque à 2-1.
Alors que le temps s'écoulait, les joueurs du CMR ont tout fait pour essayer de créer l'égalité à nouveau. Bien qu'ils aient créé quelques occasions à courte distance, elles n'ont pas été en mesure d'inscrire ce deuxième but.

Les Paladins se remettront au boulot le samedi 4 octobre quand ils mettront le cap sur Oshawa, en Ontario pour y croiser les Ridgebacks d'Ontario Tech.
