Wing Commander Anthony Charles Golab’s accomplishments at the Royal Military College occurred while serving as the Director of Cadets from 1954-1957. He coached both the RMC Football and Basketball teams during his tenure and led the “Redmen” Football team to three consecutive Intercollegiate Conference Championship titles in 1955, 1956, and 1957. Prior to his RMC posting, Tony played nine seasons with the Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League from 1939-1941, prior to enrolling in the RCAF, and then again from 1945-1950 while employed in Ottawa with the RCAF as an officer and pilot. The nine-time CFL All-Star helped the Rough Riders to four Grey Cup Finals and one Grey Cup championship title in 1940. In 1941, he was awarded both the Jeff Russell Memorial Trophy and the Lionel Conacher Award. Tony retired from the RCAF in 1967, was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1964 and later into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1974. Anthony Charles Golab was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1985.

Joueur étoile de la LCF à neuf reprises, il a aidé les Rough Riders à arriver quatre fois en finale de la coupe Grey, et à remporter un championnat de la coupe Grey en 1940. En 1941, il a reçu le trophée commémoratif Jeff Russell et le prix Lionel Conacher. Le lieutenant-colonel d’aviation Golab a pris sa retraite de l’Aviation royale du Canada en 1967 et été intronisé au Temple de la renommée du football canadien en 1964, puis au Panthéon des sports canadiens en 1974. Il a aussi reçu le titre de Membre de l’Ordre du Canada en 1985.
